Back to School

We put these cuties on the bus this morning for their 1st day of school.  Somehow, we’ve managed to become the parents of a 1st grader and a 3rd grader.

While the kids are organizing their desks and deciding what they think of their new teachers, I’m still recovering from Friday’s chemo.  Hot, red face and nausea from Taxol, feeling like I have the flu from the Neulasta shot, and extremely painful feet again – from Sorafenib and my jaunts in the woods last week.

August 23 will be my last chemo treatment.  It can’t come fast enough!

In the meantime, I can’t wait to hear how the kids’ day went!

Those two look so happy and ready to go !!!! Hang in there Nickle Pickle ! Love you bunches!

  2. I think of each of you daily, and pray that this pain will be over soon. Hugs and love for all you

YOUR LAST CHEMO TREATMENT IS ON THURSDAY!!! It’s not even on August something…it’s in DAYS! I’m counting them down with you–Hang in there. One more milestone is almost here!

  4. Counting down the days!!

  5. Taking my little girl off to college today, keep your fingers crossed for me!

  6. So proud of all our kids this first week of school! Hope your feet recover quick, for those oh so precious walks to the bus stop. BTW…I left my voice mail before reading your blog…I usually know better ;)

  7. Christine says:

What an amazing mom you are! All you have to do is look at those two eager faces and watch them confidently leave you, preparing to make their own way, to know what you have achieved these past eight years. Have you ever done anything in any other eight years of your life to be more proud of?! It seems so recent, holding that first, tiny little girl, doesn’t it? I couldn’t have imagined we’d be in such a different place from those tentative first steps in such a short time. Congratulations, You!

(To Joey, too, of course, but this is YOUR shout out, for now. Robert says dads are mostly Sherpas, anyway, literally doing all the heavy lifting and taking pictures while walking backwards. But hey, that takes talent, too. –Just kidding, Joey. Nicole and I know that we are nothing without the men in our lives who smile and nod.)

Love to you both. And to our honorary cousins, of course!

  8. Very cute, and I’m sure they loved their first day. Mine is tomorrow. Come on August 23!!
